Leaving is designed so that nothing is thrown away in a hurry, and so that a change of mind within a few weeks costs you nothing.
What happens when you uninstall the app
The moment the StickyTier app is uninstalled from your Shopify store:
- Your subscription ends; nothing more is charged.
- The programme is switched off, as it is for any programme without a plan: members see a “paused” notice on the rewards page, and nothing earns or can be spent. Balances are kept.
- Two clocks start. We email the programme owner the exact dates straight away, and again a week before members' personal data is erased.

The windows in force — and whether automatic deletion is running at all — are always the ones stated in our Privacy policy and DPA, which read the live settings; the dates in your uninstall email are exact.
Reinstalling before day 90 stops both clocks and reconnects the store to the same programme. Before day 30 that means everyone is exactly as they were; between day 30 and day 90 the balances and rules are there but members' contact details are gone.
Two things also stop the clocks: a live subscription, and a connected store. A programme that never had a Shopify store is never deleted automatically.
Before you go
Take your exports while you can. On Finance (under Advanced in the sidebar): Download full history (CSV) for the complete ledger, plus the members and referrals exports in the Exports card. Once the programme is switched off the admin shows only plan choice, but the same ledger, member and referral exports stay on that screen until day 30. Export files are among the first things removed at day 30.
Tell your members. StickyTier sends no email on your behalf when a programme closes, and once the programme is deleted its rewards page returns a plain "not found".
Deleting everything now
If you do not want to wait 90 days — a data-protection request, or simply wanting a clean end — contact support and ask for immediate deletion. A StickyTier superadmin does it from the staff console: it requires the store to be uninstalled and the subscription cancelled first, the business name typed exactly, a reason, and a fresh sign-in. It is permanent and immediate: members, balances, the full ledger, rules, rewards, the audit trail and team access all go. Backups expire as stated in Privacy.
Pausing instead of leaving
If you need to stop earning and spending without leaving, use the Emergency stop at the foot of Settings → Programme rules (Pause the whole programme, with a reason). It pauses everything at once, members see a branded "paused for now" page, nothing is lost, and you resume with Resume the programme. See Redemption controls.
A member who wants to be forgotten
That is separate from closing the programme and needs no action from you: Shopify's data request and redaction webhooks are handled automatically. A data request is emailed to the programme owner, with the customer's data as JSON in the email itself, to pass on — if it can't be delivered we keep retrying for about two hours and then our team contacts you. A redaction removes that member's direct identifiers straight away and removes their email and mobile from their points history and activity log; their stored copies — order webhooks, API events and outbound webhook deliveries — are cleaned by a background job within minutes (it retries on its own, and our team is alerted if it can't finish).
